Award winning Framlingham based Robert Norman Construction is celebrating this week, having been added to the prestigious list of Suffolk businesses who have been awarded the Gold standard of the Suffolk Carbon Charter.
The Suffolk Carbon Charter is an award recognising carbon reduction measures in Suffolk's small and medium businesses. The Charter is awarded to companies that are monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions and is part of the wider programme of initiatives to attain the goal of Creating the Greenest County.
The Gold Charter is only awarded to companies that are deemed to be exemplifying best practice in terms of internal carbon management, demonstrating significant reductions in carbon emissions and championing the environmental agenda in their community.
The panel of judges remarked that they admired the company’s strong and committed approach to addressing the energy efficiency of their operations. They also said they were impressed with the way the company strives to ensure the impact of the projects they undertake is minimised where possible and how this extends to working with customers to provide the most sustainable options possible within project budgets.
Robert Norman said of the award:
“Ensuring our work has minimal impact on the environment has always been something we strive for in our operations and we are thrilled to have been recognised for the efforts we put into achieving this. We are committed using sustainable approaches where possible and try to influence our clients and partners to look at all the options available to them when it comes to designing and building their project. ”
