Chillesford Lodge Model Farm Swimming Pool

As with previous projects at Chillesford Lodge Model Farm, the Swimming Pool complex consisted of altering the existing listed building which was the original cattle shed for the farm. The existing structure was carefully taken down whilst retaining the historic frontage and retaining all bricks to use re-building the new structure.

The rebuild was completed with the reclaimed bricks used for the external walls around an exposed Glulam frame, with reclaimed and new pantiles to the roof. The building has an internal courtyard of which the swimming pool, yoga room, changing rooms and plant room are all based around.

Internally the pool building is light and crisp with neutral tones. The original brick apertures within the brickwork were re-built and glazed to bring additional light into the room. The underside of the roof is clad with Cedar cladding giving the room warmth and the client longevity of material within the humid environment.

"We are in no doubt that what we have done here is amazing and that much of that is down to Robert Norman Construction."
