Drift Barn

Drift Barn is situated in a unique location on the River Blythe estuary. It is designed to maximise and benefit from the stunning views across the river with large format bespoke windows and doors. The planning permission dictated that the footprint of the building was to remain as the existing barn and that the original external fabric of the barn was utilised on the finished project.

With the footprint remaining as existing, the layout maximises the space available to provide a 2/3 bedroom holiday home. Internally the living space includes hand built walnut joinery and kitchen with corian worktops. The internal walls are finished with a rarely used through colour clay plaster which gives a rustic yet crisp finish.

The Corten roof panels along with cast iron rainwater goods allow the building to blend into the Suffolk countryside by replicating an established farm building.
