Manor House Barn  Award Winner

Two traditional oak framed barns were converted and joined together by an integral glazed link to create "a most amazing family home" – one single luxury four bedroom home, complete with a large vaulted living room.

With a new first floor set to bear on to the original repaired framework, plus the weight of pantile roof coverings and traditional timber cladding, the barns had to be fully underpinned and major structural repairs undertaken to the original frames.

Sustainable heating technologies have been put in place including a 20Kw heat pump working in conjunction with a water borehole. The barn conversion has delivered a highly insulated home which meets the latest building regulation requirements.

  • Extensive oak repairs and underpinning carried out to stabilise the structure
  • New first floor constructed bearing on to the original repaired framework
