The client at Samphire first approached us with the desire to demolish the existing building to replace with a contemporary new dwelling. We suggested a number of Architects we felt appropriate for the project and planning permission was sought and gained. The customer subsequently changed their brief and felt that the existing structure had the potential to be remodelled and extended to fulfil their needs.
The adaptions included a large single storey extension, loft conversion and substantial internal remodelling. The adaptions resulted in a bright, airy and modern living space with additional bedrooms. The loft conversion enabled the views of the sea to be enjoyed as did the cantilevered balcony to the front elevation.
By maintaining a simplistic design of clean sharp lines and a neutral colour scheme the dwelling created a calm living environment for the client to enjoy. This was complemented externally with Larch cladding, a new crisp slate roof and Lindab steel rainwater goods. The windows / door installed were a combination of Smart Systems and Fineline Aluminum adding to the crisp exterior of the building.
